I made a quick run into Brookshire's.

Tropicana on sale for 2/$6 - used a $1 off coupon
Tony Seasoning on sale for $1 each - used a .55 off 2 which tripled to 1.65

Total was 5.83 with tax and my receipt shows a 55% savings!

CVSing while out of town

We were out of town in Indiana and I could not get away from CVSing. I had $3 off next $15 coupon that was going to expire.

I sat and worked out the transaction and then when I got to the store I realized one of the coupons I was going to use was for a qty of 24 or more and the one I was going to get was a qty of 10. So I had to change up and go with the coupons I had on hand.

Needless to say I was saddened by my larger then I like out of pocket expense.

I can't find the receipt but I do remember the total was a little over $5.

I had BOGO coupons for the glades. And various coupons for the other things.

I will have to do better with remembering where I put my receipts. I might have to work on my receipt filing system.

Slacking on posting

I have been slacking in posting to this blog. I will have to do better.

There are some pretty good deals this week at CVS. (Several Free after coupon and ECB deals!)

I went yesterday (Sunday) and got the following.

1 - Kellogg's Corn Flakes on sale 2/$4. I used $1 off coupon making it $1!!!
1 - Smart Water on sale for $1.59. I got back $1.59 in ECB making it FREE!
4 - St Ives body wash on sale for $3.99 and used (4) $2 off coupons making them 1.99 each. I got back $3 in ECB so I made $1.01 on each of these!
2 - 9V batteries for $1 (These were not on sale but our smoke alarm batteries had died and I needed to make sure I enough money spent to use my ECBs I had)

I also has a $3 off my next $15 purchase and a $7.99 ECB.

So it brought my out of pocket total to $2.30.

I earned back $12 ECB for the St Ives Body wash and $1.59 for the Smartwater. I also got another $3 off my next $15 purchase. (Now the fun part will be spending the $12 ECB!)

Another good thing about this trip to CVS was BJ went with me and realized what I do when I go "couponing". He told the cashier this is how we pay for his satellite TV!

I had an out of pocket of 3.64 (2.99 of which I got back for returning soap that was not on sale)

and 3 RR with the value of $4, $5, $2.

Bringing my out of pocket to 5.24.

But I got back $4 RR for the razor and will get back $5 plus 10% in rebates for the shampoo.

I also had to buy some Walgreen's ointment from where my husband burnt himself which I got on sale!
Buy one @ 4.49 get the second one for Free. So I got 2 for 4.49 or 2.245 each.

I also have a $5 coupon on my receipt that I have no idea what I used it for!

So I got 98.30 of product for 12.32 after RR and rebates!

You might be thinking transaction #2 what about transaction #1 well transaction #1 was for my prescriptions. The only good thing I got out of it was a $3 off next $15 purchase which I used on transaction # 3 and $1.50 off any pain reliever purchase.

I kicked myself about this for a good 2 hours thinking about the wasted money! Big Lesson Learned.

So if you are wondering where I have used all my RR....

I have used them on getting film and digital pictures from our wedding developed. There were not many great sales this past week at Walgreen's other than Softsoap for $.99 so I used it for pictures!

Too bad Walgreen's does not give a longer time period for their RRs! Well I am off I have one more $10 RR that expires today that I need to use!

Walgreen's 9/9 Trip #2

I think this trip was the funniest one and the cheapest one so far...

2 - "filler" Things of mints for .45 each

Bringing the total to... $13.86

I used these coupons
3 - $3 off robitussin
and used the $4.50 from the first transaction of the day...

Bringing my out of pocket to 1.33.

I got back $10 RR for the Robitussin...

Now for the funny to me part of the transaction. I tried to use the 4.50 and it would not take so I had to run to the candy isle to get some cheap candy... this the "filler" mints. Then I was able to use the 4.50 RR.

BUT... My $10 RR did not print and the lady remembered the machine was broken at that register so we went to another one. Then I had to discuss it with a manager and the sales clerk that I should be getting the $10 RR. The cashier claimed that since I used coupons on the Robitussin I would not get the RR back. So we went to the third register and sure enough out came my RR.

So all in all I paid 1.33 out of pocket and finally got my $10 RR!

Walgreen's 9/9 Trip #1

CVS Pharmacy 9/8

There was a Sunday and Monday sale going on at CVS so I hit it up on Monday. I only got the things on the Sunday and Monday sale. My theroy on this was to get the ECB's and then use them this week once I look over the ad again and decide what I want to get.

I bought...
3 Revelon Nail Polish for $3.99 each
1 L'Oreal Face Wash (Something or other) for 5.99

I had one sad coupon
1 - $1/1 L'Oreal Wash
There was another one suppose to be in for the Revelon but I somehow missed it when I was clipping my coupons.

This brought the total up to $16.96, I used one $2 ECB and with tax paid 16.08.

On the brightside I started my ECB collection so next time I will have less OOP.

I got in return $9 ECB from the Nail Polish and $5.99 ECB for the Face Wash.

I can look at this trip in two ways. One I got everything for next to nothing after coupons and ECB's or that this was my initial large out of pocket trip that will hopefully start a great relationship between me and CVS's ECB's.

Walgreen's 9/8 - Trip #2 & Lesson Learned

So I headed off to a different Walgreen's yesterday on my lunch break (This one was on the way to CVS Pharmacy.)

I bought...
3 - Dimatapp's on sale for 3.99
2 - 24/7 Men's Speedstick BOGO
1 - Crest Mouthwash on sale for 4.49

I used these coupons
3 $2/1 Dimatapp coupons
2 $1/1 Speedstick coupons.

Bringing the total to 12.45. I used the $10 Register Rewards I had gotten earlier on the Robitussin (Mistake!).

Bringing my out of pocket with tax to $3.88.

I received $4.50 in register rewards for the Crest Mouth Wash but did not get my $10 Register Rewards for the Dimatapp because I used the $10 on from the Robitussin. (The cashier told me I used my RR for the same sale and that is why I could not get more. Something like same RR for same product. Lesson learned)

Now I know why everyone says Walgreen's is more complicated!

Walgreen's 9/8

So I have made my first official money-making trip to Walgreen's and I am proud of myself!

I went to Walgreen's and bought the following.
2 - Chex Mix on sale for $.99
3 - Robitussin of various kinds on sale for $3.99

I used the following coupons.
2 - $1 off each Chex
3 - $3 off each Robitussin

Bringing the total up to $3.93 out of pocket and I got $10 back in Register Rewards.

Thus, I made $6.07!!!!!

Let me tell you I am excited and think I will have to do it again!

I don't know what was the best part of the shopping trip. Thinking about the money I was saving or watching the cashiers face when she hit the total button and then again when she saw what I paid and how much my register rewards were!

CVS Pharmacy 8/23

So like I said in my last blog I have started couponing! Well I just got back from CVS pharmacy and probably just made the first purchase since I have started the I am absolutely proud of myself. I got everything pictured below.

And the total out of pocket money was $10.45!Everything I bought was on sale.

Puff's reg. 1.69 on sale for .88
Glade Air Fresheners reg. 1.89 on sale for .88
Crest Toothpaste reg. 2.79 on sale for 1.99 with $1 CVS bucks each
Infusium 23 Leave-in Conditioner reg. 6.99 on sale for 5.99
Air Wick Ultra Fresh Air Kit reg. 11.99 on sale for 9.99

All this before sales would have been 28.20 but with the sale it was 19.96 plus the $2 CVS bucks.
I used these coupons....

.25 off Puff - used two
buy one get on free glade air fresheners value of 1.89
1.00 off two crest toothpaste
3.00 off Infusium 23
4.00 off Air Wick Ultra Kit
4.00 off CVS coupon on a $20 purchase

Total of 14.39 Coupon Savings.

So with the coupon savings (14.39) and the sale savings (8.24) I saved a total of $22.63 and got $2 of CVS bucks!

Not bad... spent 10.45 saved 22.63 and got $2 CVS bucks! (I told my mom that I bought the Air Wick kit and got everything else for free!)
